Join us in building the next generation of engineering

KSE has ambitious plans for AI and has already taken important steps. We aim to deliver our client projects smarter, faster and more reliably by significantly automating repetitive engineering work. To achieve this we are looking for a junior software engineer who will first learn how our industrial automation projects are delivered in practice. Using that on-the-ground knowledge, you will help further modernise our engineering through software and AI. You will not only automate our clients' factories, but also the way we engineer them.

What you will do at KSE

You will work within a project team on automation solutions for factories in the feed, pet food, food and premix industries. Under the supervision of experienced colleagues you will learn to:

  • translate customer requirements into functional and technical solutions;
  • configure and program PLC, SCADA and MES solutions;
  • test software, commission systems and hand them over;
  • identify opportunities to standardize and automate tasks.

At the same time you will work on applications such as AI-assisted specifications, code and configuration generation, automated checks, test scenarios and project documentation. You will start with well-defined improvements and progress to solutions that are implemented across our client projects.

Who you are

You are a recent graduate or have limited work experience. You enjoy programming, learn quickly and want to understand how complex technical processes work.

You also have:

A completed HBO (university of applied sciences) or WO (research university) degree in software, ICT, AI, or engineering. More important than the specific field are your programming skills, logical reasoning, curiosity and ability to learn.
Experience with, for example, C#, Python, SQL or a similar programming language.
An interest in AI, software automation and industrial engineering.
An accurate enterprising and practical approach to work.
A good knowledge of Dutch and English.
Willingness to occasionally work at customer sites domestically and abroad.
Experience with PLC, SCADA, MES, Git, APIs, databases or generative AI is a plus but not required.

What we offer

As an employer, we offer a professional, supportive, and stimulating environment where your talent truly makes a difference:

An entry-level position at the intersection of software, AI and industrial automation.
A key role in KSE's AI ambitions.
Mentoring from experienced software and project engineers.
Ability to learn, experiment and apply ideas in real client projects.
Ample opportunities for personal development and increased responsibility.
A professional, supportive work environment with short lines of communication.
A competitive salary.
27 vacation days and 13 ADV days (additional days off).
Social activities with colleagues, such as a pub quiz and the annual Christmas event.
Recently graduated or have only limited work experience? We're especially interested in your fresh perspective and ideas.
