The role

As a Software Engineer (Softlogic / PLC / SCADA) within the project team, you are responsible for designing and implementing control systems for factories operating in the animal nutrition industry. You report to the Project Manager and work within a close-knit, multidisciplinary team. Together with colleagues from engineering, sales, product management, development, and service, you realize large-scale software projects.

What you will do at KSE

In close collaboration with the project team, you assess and evaluate the customer’s product requirements and expectations. You then translate these into software specifications and interfaces. Using existing standard modules, you configure the system according to the customer’s specific needs – and test it thoroughly. If necessary, you adjust the design to ensure it fully meets the required specifications. For new machines, you design and test the control systems in consultation with your colleagues from the development department.

When commissioning the software you have designed, you serve as the main point of contact for all software-related matters – both for your colleagues and for (inter)national customers. This may take place either on-site at the customer’s facility or remotely via a VPN connection.

As you grow further in this role, you will also contribute sales input by assessing technical risks in customer inquiries. In addition, you will estimate development and production costs and coordinate the handover of completed projects to the service department.

Who you are

You are flexible, customer-oriented, and independent – always ready to support your colleagues and add practical value to the team. In addition, you bring:

A completed bachelor’s degree (HBO), for example in Industrial Automation.
Excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written. Knowledge of German and/or French is an advantage.
A few years of experience with Soft PLCs and/or PLCs is a plus.
Knowledge of MES, C#, and SQL databases is a strong advantage – as is familiarity with HMI and SCADA systems and industrial networks.

What we offer

As an employer, we offer a professional, supportive, and stimulating environment where your talent truly makes a difference:

A position within a company that is small enough for short communication lines and personal contact, yet large enough to make an impact, holds a strong market position, and offers plenty of growth opportunities.
Working in a dynamic environment that values and supports your personal development.
A competitive salary.
27 vacation days and 13 additional leave (ADV) days.
Enjoyable social activities such as our annual pub quiz and Christmas event.
